The Business of Being Born

I just wanted to share some information regarding the new documentary - The Business of Being Born. I haven't seen it yet, but have spoken to many that have and it is highly recommended for anyone who wants to be an informed consumer when giving birth. The trailer is very intruiging! There was a screening last Saturday at Providence Church in Frisco and there will be two more local screenings on Feb. 23 at Peppermint Baby Botique in Richardson....here is info from their website. Hope to see you there!!!!!

We are so pleased that our new Peppermint retail store was chosen to host a special sneak preview of Ricki Lake's new movie, "The Business of Being Born."

Ricki Lake and filmmaker Abby Epstein examine birth culture in America, and ask questions about the way American women have babies.

Footage of women having babies punctuates THE BUSINESS OF BEING BORN. Each experience is unique; all are equally beautiful and equally surprising.

Along the way, Epstein conducts interviews with a number of obstetricians, experts and advocates about the history, culture and economics of childbirth. The film's fundamental question: should most births be viewed as a natural life process, or should every delivery be treated as a potential medical emergency? Epstein uncovers some surprising answers.

Special Screening Event Details:
