Overheard

I would give anything to have captured this conversation on video....

Eli: Where does Deuty (our cat Deuteronomy that ran away 3 years ago) live now?

Hunter: Deuty lives in Heaven now.

Eli: Heaven?

Hunter: Yes, Deuty lives in Heaven with Jesus.

Eli: Jesus lives in your heart.

More December Pics and Updates

I have not posted much this month, but much has happened. First, Chase no longer has his NG tube!! He decided to pull it out one day. Since he was nursing well, I decided to try a bottle for his supplemental feeds rather than the tube. He didn't like it at first, but now he is doing really well with a bottle....too well actually. Now he will not nurse. I am trying everything..hopefully something will work. This is very hard for me. I nursed Eli for 26 months and planned to nurse Chase as long as possible. Please pray that he would start nursing again.

Chase's last day with the NG tube.
Another big event this month was the birth of Katelyn Nicole. Our sweet friends, Erik & Donna added this precious girl to their family on the 17th. It was so wonderful to get to hold her on her birth day.

The weekend before Christmas, our family from Arkansas came to visit. It was`so good to see them. Eli had so much fun playing with Madison!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was so fun to spend time with family and share gifts with others. On Christmas Eve, my Mom, Dad, Sister and her family came to our house.

Trying to grt a picture of the kids in their Christmas eve jammies is getting impossible...actually, this year it was impossible. It went something like this....Jessie wanted to hold Chase....Eli didn't want Jessie to hold Chase...Eli didn't want to sit next to Jessie...Jack didn't want to sit next to anyone...etc. So, no picture this year. : )
Eli received a hockey net from his favorite hockey player, John-John

Hunter helped Eli place a "magic key" on our front door. Only Santa can use this magic key.

Once again, Eli tested the cookies and milk that he left for Santa.

Anniversary Celebration

Every year, we celebrate our anniversary by spending a couple of days away from home and spending the night in a local hotel. So this past Saturday, we started the day by going to the train exhibit at NorthPark. Eli LOVED it!!! We also spent time looking at all the other Christmas attractions that are on display at NorthPark. Then we headed to our hotel, The Adolphus. Eli was so excited to stay in a hotel....he loves them!! : ) We had a nice dinner at Landry's...we can't go anywhere too outrageous with 2 little ones. We really enjoyed it and so did Eli! On Sunday, we had our traditional eggs benedict at Eatzie's and then spent some time at White Rock Lake. It was such a wonderful weekend!

This was part of the train exhibit....Eli saw it and said...."Look! That's where Chase lives."

Having some fun at NorthPark...I remember playing on these when I was a kid!

I forgot to bring snacks for Eli so he raided the super expensive in-room snack bar a couple of times. This was his morning snack....a $4 can of chips. : )

The Adolphus has a HUGE, beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby.

Christmas Pictures???

I have been trying to capture a good picture of Eli & Chase to send in our Christmas cards, but so far have not been successful. Here are some of my hopeless attempts.....

Heart2Heart Christmas Party

A couple of weeks ago, we attended the Heart2Heart Christmas Party at Children's Medical Center. There were so many heart patients there....I LOVE to see heart patients that are no longer babies. It makes me dream of the day that Chase is 5...6...7...8...etc. years old.

Eli & Hunter decorated a gingerbread cookie at the party

A Santa that is very familiar with babies with NG tubes ; )

Santa gave a present to every kid. Eli kept saying that he wanted a race car....thankfully, he opened a race car!
