Planting

Eli and I planted three tomato plants and some wildflowers. I thought Eli would enjoy watching the tomatos and flowers grow.....hopefully they will.....I'm usually not that great with plants! Eli enjoyed planting and watering the plants! (The paci is in his mouth to prevent him from eating the dirt!)

Happy Birthday Girls!

Today we went to Emily, Ashley, and Molly's first birthday party. We had so much fun and Eli was able to play with several of his friends. Happy Birthday! : )

Granny to the Rescue....Again!

Just as we were trying to figure out what shoes to wear with this outfit, Granny came over with a bag full of new clothes and these super cool shoes that matched Eli's outfit perfectly! Thanks, Granny...you came through for us AGAIN! : )
Eli found some floss and thought it was so funny to pull out all the string. He carried it around yesterday for a long time and even wanted to take it to Target this morning! : )

Lunch with Friends

We had lunch yesterday with Sonia, Megan, and Peyton. Eli enjoyed lunch and even let Sonia hold him for a while!

Fun with Sticky Tabs

Hunter gave Eli some sticky tabs to play with while Hunter was working. Eli peeled them off one by one and stuck them all over him. It was so funny!! When we took them off, Eli took them and stuck them back on himself.

Brushing Teeth

I didn't realize that toddlers could have tooth decay this early until I read a recent post on a yahoo! group from a mother of an 18 month old boy that had 3 teeth with decay. Yikes! Immediately after I saw the posting I went out and bought Eli a baby toothbrush and some toothpaste especially made for toddlers. Now brushing Eli's teeth and gums is a part of our morning and bedtime routine. He loves it - especially when Hunter or I brush our teeth at the same time. Who would have ever thought that brushing teeth would be fun! : )

Fun on the Farm

Eli and I spent a couple of days at Granny's farm this week. Eli loved being outside and around the animals. He got to see horses, a cow, chickens, bunnies, and a frog. It was so funny to watch him in this environment - boys are just born traits....like playing in the dirt, throwing rocks, playing with frogs, chasing rolly-pollys, etc.

Teething!

Eli is cutting four teeth at the same time. His top four teeth are coming in all at the same time...this is the result! I feel so sorry for him....thank goodness for teething tablets (thanks for the recommendation, Rebecca)!!

Fun with Friends

Eli had a couple of friends over on Tuesday. Aidan just learned to crawl so he showed Mary and Eli...he crawls very well! I just love this picture of Mary - she looks so excited!

Mary is getting tired...Eli and Aidan look very concerned.

Hugs for Elmo

Quilt Show

Today, Eli and I went to the Dallas Quilt Show with Granny (my Mom). Each year, Granny has a quilt in the show. This year she had a quilt that she made for Jessica (Eli's cousin). Her quilts are always so pretty!

As you can see, Eli was very impressed with the Quilt Show! : )

Touchdown!

Eli's new trick....say "touchdown!" and he throws his arms up in the air. Also, check out his new shirt that Hunter got him at the ESPN Zone in Denver. : )

Good Luck, Dad!

Hunter left for Denver this afternoon where he will start his new job tomorrow. His job is in Dallas, but his orientation is in Denver. Hunter is very excited about his new opportunity and Eli wished him good luck as he packed and got ready to go. Eli loves his Daddy!!!!

Dad's Day Off

Hunter is starting a new job tomorrow so he had the day off today. We took Eli to Willowbend to play. He had so much fun. They have such a fun play area for kids....even kids Eli's age.

After the play time, we enjoyed lunch at Chick-fil-A. Eli loves the chicken nuggets! : ) He tried to taste my lemonade, but couldn't get it to work for him. He didn't realize that Mommy loves the lemonade and the cup was empty!

Baby Beans!

On Saturday, my Dad brought over a box of my old stuff from their garage so I had a little walk down memory lane that afternoon. I found one of my favorite babies....Baby Beans! I don't know if that was her official toy name, but that's what I called her because her body is full of something that feels like beans. I gave Baby Beans to Eli and he thought she was pretty cool....for a doll! : )

One Year Pictures

Here are some of Eli's one year pictures. Unfortunatly I don't have the digital images, so I took pictures of the picture so I could post them. : )

Mystery Solved!

For several days, Eli was refusing all food - even crackers and Cherrios! Hunter and I were at a loss as to how to get him to eat. We tried everything...fruit, meat, cheese, cookies (I know, I know!), veggies...and he would not eat more than one or two bites. Thankfully, Eli is still breastfeeding so we knew that he was getting what he needed nutritionally, but we could not figure out the food thing. Then on Monday night, Hunter sat down with him and finally got him to eat. And when he did, Eli bit his finger! A NEW TOOTH! That's why he was not eating! Now that tooth #3 is pushing through, Eli is eating everything. His new favorite....blueberries! Here he his checking out a blueberry and a part of a cereal bar. He loves to study/disect his food before he eats it!

New Shoes!

On Sunday, Eli got his first pair of Stride Rite shoes. He was so good at the store when the man measured his feet. And, when he was trying on the shoes the man said that he did so good and didn't curl his toes like most babies....I mean, Toddlers! : )
