Playing in the Backyard

Eli enjoys doing anything outside. This morning he pushed his stroller in the backyard for at least 45 minutes. He just laughs and laughs while he's pushing it as fast as he can. It is so fun to watch!

Park Time

Going to the park has become a daily activity for us. We have 4 parks that are super close to our house, but the big city park is Eli's favorite.

Location, Location, Location

Eli used to LOVE apples. Then, a couple of weeks ago he stopped eating them. He would ask for an apple, I would give it to him, and then he would spit it out. This morning, he asked again, but this time he asked if he could sit on the kitchen counter to eat his apple. I tried it and he almost at an entire apple. So, I guess he likes apples again....IF he's sitting on the kitchen counter to eat them. : )

This is funny because we discussed this very topic at the LLL toddler meeting yesterday (toddler nutrition). We talked about being creative with children when it is time to eat or snack time. Some moms stated that changing eating locations occasionally (from the table to a "picnic on the floor", etc.) will help their toddlers eat more or try something they have never tried before....we were not really testing this suggestion, but it worked for the apples!!

Happy Easter!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!! Here are a few pics from our Easter celebration.

Getting ready to hunt Easter Eggs
There are not a lot of places to hide eggs in our backyard, so I just placed them on the ground. Eli knew exactly what to do and had fun putting them in his basket. Much to my surprise, he did not eat all the candy inside them. He ate some, but left some as well. There were several eggs with goldfish crackers inside them....he didn't eat any of those. He was saving room for the candy! : )

Baseball

Tonight Eli told us that he wanted to play baseball. So, we tried it and check him out!! He can hit the ball pretty good.....he did this several times and had so much fun. It was so fun to watch him. It got a little rowdy at times, but it was fun!!!

Easter Cookies

Eli and I made Easter cookies this morning. Eli had so much fun!!

Cousins

The next few posts are about 3 of Eli's cousins. My Dad visited them in Alaska recently and came back with some great pictures. I mention the cousins in Alaska on the blog pretty often so I decided to share a little about them.

My sister, Lisa, and cousins Jessica and John-John

Cousin John-John

John-John is 10 and is a very busy kid....

John-John has been playing hockey for several years and has been on a competitive/travel team for the past 2 or 3 years. He plays defense and really enjoys hockey.
John-John does really well in school. This is his science fair project this year. His project was one of the top projects in the district and he will compete regionally soon.
John-John also plays the cello and is in the city honor orchestra.

Cousin Jessica

Jessica turned 4 in December. She is the princess of the family. : )

Jessie started playing hockey when she was 3....she talks about Ice Puppies all the time when we talk on the phone.

Cousin Jack

Jack is 15 months old. He's all over the place....he's not walking yet. He's going to be one of those kids that waits until he is good and ready and then just takes off walking. He is so sweet!! We just love his big, brown eyes!

Jack loves to go up the stairs.
Getting ready for his first haircut
WOW! He looks like such a big boy after his first haircut!!! I just love his shirt...it says I'm Kind Of A Big Deal : )

12 Week Baby Update

I had my 12 week appointment yesterday and it went well. The baby's heartbeat is very strong. Judging from the sound of the heartbeat, I think it's a boy. That's my guess for now, but I reserve the right to change my guess before we find out. : ) I was going to post a belly shot, but thankfully, there is no belly right now....besides what's always there! ; ) I KNOW that will change soon.

We have decided on first names and a middle name for a girl, but we are going to wait to share until we have a middle name for a boy. : )

Eli is the Mommy

This morning, when we were getting dressed, Eli wanted me to put a clip in his hair. So, I did. Then he grabbed my purse and said, "I'm Mommy". As we were getting ready to leave, he stood at the door saying hurry, hurry, let's go, go, go.....which I realized is what I am normally saying as we walk out the door. It was funny, but made me think about slowing down a little (or at least trying to not be in a hurry all the time!) and about what I say....Eli picks up EVERYTHING!
