Eating Update

No pictures, but wanted to give a quick eating update....Eli is still loving all his veggies! WooHoo!!! In fact, tonight he at only his veggies and didn't eat his chicken. In the past three days he's eaten carrots, green beans, zucchini, celery, rice (i know...not a veggie), and peas. I'm praying that it continues! : )

Eli enjoys scooping things from one container to another. This morning while I was starting the dishwasher, he decided he wanted to scoop the soap from the dishwasher into a cup. Since playing with dishwasher soap is not the safest, I decided to try something else....rice! So I put the rice in one container, gave him another and a spoon. He had tons of fun!! PS....if you come to our house anytime in the near future, please watch your step in the kitchen. Rice is very slippery on tile floor and I'm SURE I missed some in the clean up! ; )

Before the spill.....
...after the spill. Eli was "helping" me clean up the rice.

What have you done with Eli??

It is a well known fact that Eli does not eat veggies. I offer them at lunch and supper and even for snack, but he just skips right over them. He is a meat and bread boy! Tonight, I put chicken, steamed carrots, and steamed zucchini on his plate. As I was cutting up the carrots I thought to myself, why am I even bothering. To my surprise, Eli ate everything on his plate and wanted more veggies. He ate two servings of carrots and three servings on zucchini!!! OK....this cannot be Eli.....what did you do with Eli???? : )

Bed Head!!!

After Eli's afternoon nap today......

Baking

Eli and I made banana bread on Friday afternoon. I turned my head for just a second and Eli had the bag of flour everywhere!!

New PJs

When Eli sleeps, he does not like any blankets near him and does not like anything at all to be on his legs. Finally, we were able to get Eli to like his new PJs. He still pulls at the legs and the long sleeves, but he doesn't complain about them.

Helping Mommy

Eli likes to help me with housework. It usually takes me twice as long to do things, but I always try to let him help. It's amazing to me how much he really does help me! He has learned how to help put clothes and towels away when I'm folding laundry, how to help dust, and now he's learning how to vacuum. He's a little short so the vacuum doesn't touch the ground when he's pushing it, but you should see him pick up Cheerios with the attachment thing (I don't know what it's called). When we're vacuuming corners and along the baseboards and furniture, Eli does it all and does a great job! I think he likes to see things get sucked up the tube!! : )

OT: we are starting the potty learning process....that is why he is vacuuming with no clothes on.....to help him learn, he is diaper free and sometimes clothes free when we are at home (and not sleeping!). I'll keep you posted on Eli's progress.

Worms

On Sunday, we found a worm in the backyard. Hunter picked it up and let it crawl all over his hands. Eli thought it was the coolest thing....he kept saying "Cool!". Now Eli looks for worms everytime we go in the backyard. : )

Happy Birthday Holden

Today, Eli went to Holden's birthday party. I have been friends with Holden's mom for several years....before either of us were married. Today, Holden celebrated is 1st birthday. Eli had fun at the party and couldn't wait to cut the cake!! He kept walking around the table saying "cake! cake!" Eli has a sweet tooth....I'm not surprised....his mom has a sweet tooth too! : )

Holden's Mom wanted a picture of all the kids - here they are getting in their places.....
...."Cheese!" Notice that everyone is lookin in the same direction except Eli!

Fun Christmas Project

In a recent Pottery Barn catalog, I saw an advent calendar that had a Christmas ornament for each day in December (see the link below)

Anyway, I loved it and thought that Eli would have fun with it. So I considered buying it until I saw the price......$129 for the board which did NOT include the ornaments. The ornaments were another $200. Needless to say that is WAY outside of my price range for a "fun thing for Eli". So, I decided to make one. Eli helped me paint the cork board and then I did everything else after I put him to bed last night. It took a total of 1 1/2 hours and cost just $22 for everything including the ornaments!! I showed it to Eli when he woke up this morning and he LOVED it. He has been playing with the ornaments today. It was a super easy craft project....and for me, "super easy" and "craft project" are not commonly used in the same sentence! : )

Daddy!

Eli LOVES Daddy!!!! Sometimes, I think the highlight of Eli's day is when Hunter walks in the door from work. Last night in the middle of Eli's bedtime prayer, Eli leaned over to me and said "I love Daddy" while Hunter was praying. It was so sweet. Here are a few of Eli's favorite things to do with Hunter.....

Eli & Daddy sharing some oatmeal. Eli loves to share food with Daddy and he loves to sit in Daddy's chair when he's not home. He points to the chair and says, "Daddy".

Eli enjoys reading books with Daddy too.

Mittens

My Mom bought Eli some mittens. I didn't think he would let me put them on his hands, but not only did he let me....he asks me for them all the time. It really doesn't matter if it's cold, he just likes to wear them.

Playing Outside

Eli loves playing outside and the darker evenings and colder weather (these pics were taken several days ago when it was cold at night) doesn't bother him at all. I think he would live in the backyard if I'd let him.

Painting

Last week I decided to paint the powder bathroom. My mom came over on Thursday to watch Eli while I painted. I got one coat of paint on while she was here, but wasn't able to paint the second coat. On Tuesday, Eli and I decided that we would paint the second coat together! So...we taped plastic to the floor, covered the door with a fitted sheet, changed into our painting clothes and went for it! I was thinking in my head that this could be successful and fun OR a TOTAL disaster. Thankfully, it was successful. Eli had so much fun painting. Several times a day, Eli walks into the bathroom and shows me the section that he painted. He's very proud of his section! : )

Trick or Treat

Eli went trick or treating this year and had so much fun. He loved going up to each house. We couldn't get him to say "trick or treat" on command, but he had the "thank you" and "bye-bye" down like a pro! Hunter and I had so much fun with him.

Halloween Playgroup

I know this is a little late, but Blogger has not been letting me upload pictures until today. At playgroup on Wednesday, everyone dressed up in their Halloween costumes for a while. Although noone is smiling in the picture, they all had a great time wearing their costumes for awhile. Superhero (Collin), Sheep (Eli), Chicken (Maya), and Lion (Jackson)
