Friends

On Thursday, Eli and I had lunch with Caryn and Abigail. Eli and Abigail had so much fun and gave each other several hugs.

This is Eli in December with Abigail's sister, Kate. This is one of my favorite pictures....we look forward to seeing Kate again soon! : )

Breakfast

Eli decided to pour his yogurt on the paper towel and then eat it.....

Exploring

Eli loves to look through the box of tea bags. He opens them one by one and when he's done he piles them all back in the box and places them back in the pantry.

Walking Adventures

During our walk Tuesday evening, Eli had fun discovering several new things......

Eli discovered his shadow and stopped to wave MANY times. Once we were in the shade and he stopped to wave and was very confussed! He started turning in circles while looking at the ground and saying "shadow?! shadow?!"
Stopping to look at a bug....Eli loves to look at the bugs!
Looking though the fire hydrant??? Eli was going from side to side, looking through like this was a telescope.

Can anyone relate?

I found this quote and thought it was very appropriate for me.

"Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing."-----Phyllis Diller

Some days I feel like I'm picking up the same toys three or four times! I guess that is just life with a toddler! : ) BUT, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!!

Farmer Eli

This morning I was cleaning out Eli's closet and came across these overalls that he never wore. I just HAD to try them on him to see what he looked like....Eli's never worn overalls before and he thought he had on some kind of costume. He was walking around with stiff legs...it was so funny! Here are a few pics of Farmer Eli.....

I LOVE this picture!!! : )

Painting

Eli's first try at fingerpainting. He did well with keeping it on the paper, but he wasn't as excited about it as I thought he'd be. He painted for about 10 minutes then said "all done!"

Eating Blueberries with Dad

These pictures are from last Saturday, but I forgot to post until now....Eli LOVES blueberries!

ER Visit

Eli was not feeling well this morning and by the time that I returned from church (Eli & Dad stayed home), Eli was feeling very bad. He was crying so hard and I could not get him to stop. Also, he had a 103-104 fever and trouble breathing. We took him to the Children's ER at Medical City.....after 6 hours, several tests (including a spinal tap), and antibiotics through IV, the DR determined that he has a VERY bad ear infection. The DR thought he may have something more severe....that was the reason for all the tests. We are very thankful that all of the tests were negative. Eli was so strong today....he was poked so many times, but he did very well. I'm so thankful for Eli and his health!!!

Playgroup Friends

We had our Wednesday playgroup at our house today. As always, Eli had so much fun! It is so fun to watch how the little ones are starting to actully play together rather than just parallel playing.

Eli & Jackson playing cars/trucks at the table.
Eli & Maya playing in the car.
Jackson is ready for a nap!! : )

Happy 85th Birthday, Pa-Pa!

On Monday, Eli's Pa-Pa (Great Grandfather) celebrated his 85th birthday. Pa-Pa came down on Sunday afternoon and we had a nice visit and enjoyed some german chocolate birthday cake. Eli wasn't a big fan of the cake, but he LOVED the ice cream.

Fun at the Zoo

Today was "Family Day" at the Dallas Zoo and admission was only $2 so we decided to try it even though it was hot and we weren't sure how Eli would hold up.....He did VERY well and seemed to have a great time. Here are a few pictures....

Eli LOVES fish!!!

One of Eli's favorite things to do is play in water. He really enjoyed this wading area in the chilren's zoo!

Eli even took a nap!

Pump It Up

We went to Pump It Up, Jr. today...Eli had a great time!!

18 Months Old

This is a little late, but we just went to Eli's 18 month check-up on Tuesday so I thought I'd give a quick update. According to the doctor, Eli is very healthy and developing very well. He is in the 50th percentile in height and weight. Eli did not cry as much as he usually does during the check-up, but did cry during the shots!! Although, right after the shots, the nurse came in with a basket of lolly-pops and Eli stopped crying immediately so he could pick his lolly-pop. : )

We picked up his 18 month pictures last night...I'll try to post some later today. Here is the link to the pictures, but I'm not sure if it will work....sometimes it seems to and sometimes it doesn't.

A few milestones (?) to mention....

1. Eli is FINALLY getting more teeth. After a 5 month drought, 2 more teeth are coming in on the bottom....that makes 8.

2. Every night Hunter and I say prayers with Eli. On Tuesday night, at the end of the prayer, Eli said "Amen" for the first time. It wasn't just any 'ol "amen", it was VERY entergetic..."AAAAAAAAAAMEN!"

3. Not sure this is a milestone, but it is worth blogging. I had the TV on PBS and the "golden arches" flashed on the screen as a "proud sponsor". Eli pointed to the TV and then said and signed "chicken"! EEEEKKKKKK! Eli has only had McDonald's chicken nuggets maybe 3 times (I watched "Super Size Me" and that cured me of any McDonald's trips) : ) I have to hand it to the marketing department a McDonald's....they definitely know what they are doing!

Dr. Eli

This morning, Eli and I were talking about going to the Dr later today for his 18 month check-up. During the conversation, Eli ran and got his doctor kit. I showed him what the doctor was going to do so maybe he won't scream the entire time! We'll see!!

Trains

Eli has been very interested in trains lately. He is always saying "choo-choo" and he loves to watch any kind of train. Saturday, we rode the "train" (DART rail) to downtown Dallas and ate dinner at Landry's. Eli loved the train and had a great time (although I couldn't get him to smile in any of the pictures!).
