Our Crazy Week

What a week!! Eli had a cold and I got it on Monday. Thankfully, it only lasted about 2 days for me. Chase got it on Tuesday and so began the drama. We went to the pedi on Tuesday and there were no major issues. By Wednesday night, Chase was coughing and his breathing was very noisy and labored. We went back to the pedi on Thursday and had a breathing treatment and a chest x-ray. The chest x-ray showed increased markings, but not pneumonia so he sent us home, but told us to return on Friday. We returned on Friday and the pedi was concerned so we headed to Children's to see Chase's cardiologist. We had lab work and a couple of other tests and were thankfully sent home after we promised to bring him back if he developed any other symptoms. Chase did well over the weekend and is on the mend. We went back to the pedi today and Chase's lungs are clearing up, but he has an ear infection.

So, we suvived our first cold with Chase. Something that is no big deal with an otherwise healthy child, is a big deal with a baby with heterotaxy. But now we know what to expect when Chase gets a cold. : )
