Celebrating Eli's 5th Birthday

Today we celebrated Eli's 5th birthday at BounceU in Plano. Eli had tons of fun playing with his friends. I can't believe that Eli is already 5 years old....how time flies! I am so proud of Eli and so blessed to be the one that he calls "mom".

Reed Eating

Reed was eating squash and seemed to really like it. However, after several bites he started making a funny face after each bite. : )

Something New

Reed is 7 1/2 months old and is sitting very well now so I decided to see what he thought of eating some baby food. On Monday, I gave him some pears and he LOVED them!!! He laughed while I was feeding him and seemed to really enjoy eating....and he actually opened his mouth and ate! I think it's a sure sign that he was ready for solids. Today he tried carrots and loved them just as much as the pears. : ) Breast milk will continue to be his main source of nutrition for quite some time, but it's fun to try food too.

For the Birds

This morning, Eli and Chase crumbled some bread and left it in the back yard for the birds. We thought the birds might have a hard time finding food since there are 1-2 inches of ice covering everything!! This afternoon, there were several beautiful birds enjoying the bread. : )

Yes, this is Eli in a jacket and rubber boots...no pants. ; ) He was just running outside for a second and I pick my battles! ; ) Not sure why Chase looks like he just rolled out of bed....he'd been up for about an hour.

Science Project

Eli turns 5 years old in a couple of weeks and will be starting Kindergarten soon. Hunter and I have been trying to figure out our approach to school for our Eli (public school, university model school, homeschool). It is a much harder decision than I anticipated. Regardless of what we choose, we want our home to be a place where our kids are always learning and where learning is fun. That said, we decided to take advantage of our sub-freezing temps this week and do some "science projects". No matter how big or small, if we tell Eli we are doing a science project, he gets SO SUPER excited. One of our projects was experimenting with water and watching it turn to ice outside. We also placed the ice on the stove and observed it turning to steam, but we didn't get any pictures. : )

CHD Awareness

February is Heart Month and the second week of February is CHD Awareness Week. Throughout this month, several of my posts will be focused on CHD Awareness. I am the blessed mom of a CHD survivor and I want to do my part to raise awareness.

Family of 5

Our attempt at taking a picture of our family was only mildly successful. These are the first pictures we have with all 5 of us. :)
Good, but Chase's eyes are closed
Eli's eyes are closed & Reed and Chase are not looking at the camera
Just not ready
The best picture...although it's not great. : )
Eli's eyes closed
Crazy faces

Hunter's Birthday

We celebrated Hunter's birthday on Saturday. Eli helped make the cake.

Poor Hunter/Daddy....I spend HOURS decorating the kid's birthday cakes...I spent about 3 minutes decorating Hunter's cake with Reed in my arms! : )

The best 4 boys EVER! : )
