who knew shaving cream could be this fun??? (if you are going to try this, i HIGHLY recommend using unscented shaving cream! we did not and our house smelled like shaving cream for 2 days!)

First Day of Mom2Mom

Another year of Mom2Mom started a couple of weeks ago. It is a program at Stonebriar Community Church for moms with young children. I think it is a great program and am blessed every time I attend! Eli and Chase stay in the childcare during Mom2Mom. Eli's class is more like a preschool....a FREE, christian preschool! I am so impressed by the things that he does and learns in the class. Last week he learned about the 5 senses so on the way home we talked all about noses! : ) A couple of pics from the first day of M2M (it also happened to be Chase's birthday).....

Chase's Birthday Party

the theme: turtles

i had the hardest time trying to decide the perfect theme for chase's first birthday party. then, one night when i was running, it came to me: turtles. i didn't know why, but i knew it was perfect. so i started my hunt for everything turtle. much to my surprise, i had a very hard time finding turtle themed birthday party items. then, one night when i was running, i started thinking about why the turtle theme was so perfect. then it came to me. when chase was in the hospital and it seemed like we would never get out of the icu, chase's surgeon always told me that bad things happen fast and good things happen slow....we like slow....slow and steady. turtles!!! once i remembered those words, i was determined to find turtle themed party supplies. i started with some cute stickers that i found on etsy.com and went from there. i made everything else based on those stickers.

Prayers for Maverick's Family

Please remember Baby Maverick's family in your thoughts and prayers today. Maverick was born one year ago today with Transposition of the Great Arteries (one of the defects that Chase was born with). Sadly, Maverick passed away after just 5 short months of life. I met Maverick's mom last year at the State Fair.....at the time, we both had boys in the ICU...Chase at Children's and Maverick at Medical City. Please, please pray for this family. My heart is breaking for them today!!!

Happy Birthday, Baby Chase!!!

We are so blessed to be celebrating Chase's first year of life! Chase's first year has been amazing. We are so thankful to God for him and for his wonderful life! I like what one of my friends said....if you ever wonder if God really answers prayers, just look at Baby Chase and you will know that He does!!

Thanks to all who prayed for Baby Chase. We are celebrating his birthday because of your prayers....we are forever grateful!!
