Eli is the Mommy

This morning, when we were getting dressed, Eli wanted me to put a clip in his hair. So, I did. Then he grabbed my purse and said, "I'm Mommy". As we were getting ready to leave, he stood at the door saying hurry, hurry, let's go, go, go.....which I realized is what I am normally saying as we walk out the door. It was funny, but made me think about slowing down a little (or at least trying to not be in a hurry all the time!) and about what I say....Eli picks up EVERYTHING!

First Bloom

Eli and I planted some bulbs in the Fall and today we discovered our first bloom. This is the first time that I have ever done this and I am so proud of my flowers....especially after I discovered that there is a certain direction that the bulbs are supposed to face when they are placed in the ground....Eli and I just dug a hole and threw them in. BUT, I guess we did something right because it looks like we are going to have lots of pretty spring flowers. I am so excited about them! Two days ago the ground was covered in snow...today, beautiful flowers. You just have to love the way God works!!! : )

143 Mile Stroller Ride!?

OK - this is a random entry, but here it is anyway. : ) At the beginning of the year, I decided to track how many miles I run this year and how many miles I run while being pregnant. I ran when I was pregnant with Eli, but I didn't keep track of how many miles and I really wish I did. Anyway, I started thinking about it and realized that 99% of the time, I'm pushing Eli when running. So, I looked back at my calender and we have run 143 miles since September 1. That means Eli has sat in his stroller for 143 MILES! AND, that doesn't include all the running we did this summer....we were running 20 miles a week during the summer!!!! That's a TON of stroller time!!!!!

The funny thing is, I remember trying to go around the block with Eli when he was 3-6 months old and he would not sit in his stroller for 1 block! I would go home and cry and wonder why my baby would not ride in a stroller! So, I gave up and carried him in a sling everywhere I went. (maybe he was trying to let me know that he wanted to be close to me for a little longer) I'm sure many people remember me taking Eli to the Arboretum when he was a few months old....I had to carry him and thankfully friends were helpful enough to push my stroller for me. So funny to think about that now! : )

Washing Hair

Bath

I haven't taken any pics of Eli in the bath lately, so I decided to this morning. He is so funny in the bath! He likes to stand up and have water poured on him so he can take a "shower". Then he says Shower! while the water is being poured on him.

Snow!!

It snowed last night!! Eli LOVED watching the snow, but when we took him outside he said, "It's cold, cold!" I guess he doesn't remember being in Alaska last winter when it was 50 below...THAT was cold, cold!!! : ) This morning, my usual late sleeper was up at 7am...the first thing he said was Snow! So, we went to the window and looked out.

Chuck E. Cheese...please, Mama

On Thursday and Friday, Eli started asking me if we could go to Chuck E. Cheese. We've only been a few times, but he knows exactly what it is and LOVES it. He talks about it every Thursday because there is a Chuck E. Cheese right next door to the place where he goes to gymnastics. Anyway, he started saying, "Chuck E. Cheese please mama". So, on Saturday, Hunter and I took him to Chuck E. Cheese. He had a great time!! He loves the rides and enjoys playing several of the games. He's still young for many of the games, but he likes to pretend. We just love watching him explore and play. : )
