We are SO thankful for all the rain, but Eli LOVES playing outside so all the rain has been a little frustrating for him. We try to go outside and play between the storms. This morning we were able to go on our walk....we left the house just when it stopped raining and when our 3 miles was up, it started raining again! Just enough time!!! : ) This afternoon we played outside again between the storms.

Just Eating Lunch
Eli was all smiles while eating lunch today. He is eating better, but still not as much as I'd like him to eat! I am very thankful that we are still breastfeeding so I don't have to worry about his nutritional needs when he is being a picky eater! : )

Playgroup is hard work!
After Eli's friends left today, Eli was asleep within 15 minutes. He is always so tired after a few hours of playing with friends.
Eli naps on his crib mattress which is on the floor next to our bed. Sometimes he sleeps on it at night (or at least part of the night). He is very proud of his own bed....although not proud enough to sleep there all the time. He much prefers being in bed with Mommy and Daddy!! : )

Playgroup
This past spring, Eli was in a Kindermusik class where he met some new friends. Now, each Wednesday we have a playgroup with our friends from music. Eli has such a good time and I really enjoy spending the time with the kids and the mommies!

A Big Day at Church
Eli had a VERY big day at church today. For the past several months, Eli has not stayed in the nursery at church because he just did not feel comfortable. He would cry and cry every Sunday until I was called out of church to pick him up. So, I stopped leaving him in the nursery for several months until I felt he was ready to try again.
Last Sunday, we decided to try it and he did much better. He did not cry much although he had to be held the entire time. This week, he did not cry. AND, he even played with the toys and other children and seemed to have a good time. It was a big day!!!!!!! I'm sure we'll still encounter some crying, but we're making progress.

Swimming
We took Eli swimming on Saturday evening for the first time this summer. He was a little scared at first, but once he got used to the water, he loved it! He played on the step until he was more comfortable, then he started walking around and splashing.
I tried to take several pictures of Hunter going down the waterslide, but I kept missing him - so I decided to video it instead. It's a very short video which may explain why I kept missing him when I was trying to take a picture! : )

Playing Soccer
Since Hunter found out that Eli can start playing soccer at 18 months (actually it's SoccerTots) he has been teaching him how to kick a ball. Eli is pretty good at it and tonight I was able to capture it on the camera.
All dressed up with no place to go
This evening, Eli and I decided we'd go swimming at our neighborhood pool. So we got dressed, packed a bag and headed out. This would be Eli's first time to swim this year. BUT, when we got to the pool, the lifeguard informed us that the baby pool was closed for the day for some special cleaning. : ( We're glad they attempt to keep the pool so clean, but were very disappointed that we did not get to go swimming. I'm anxious to see what Eli thinks of the pool. Last year he fell asleep everytime we got in the pool. I bet that doesn't happen this year! ; )

The Big Boy Potty
Eli is really good at letting me know when he has to "poo-poo" or when he had just gone "poo-poo". So, last week I decided to place him on the big boy potty when he told me he had to go. He was so excited about sitting on it and acted very proud of himself, but no action!! He had fun anyway!

Washing windows can be fun???
This morning, Mommy and I went outside for our morning check of the bunnies. While we were out there, Mommy noticed how extra dirty the window were and decided that we would wash the windows. What?!?!? Mom was determined so I decided to jump in and help her out.
Washing windows is pretty fun until.......
.....a rolly polly walks by. Rolly pollies are WAY more fun than washing windows!
I even helped Mommy dust the screens. At first we were using a small broom, but with Mommy's allergies and dust flying everywhere, we decided to try something else.
So we sprayed them with water. Actually, Mommy sprayed them and I just played in the water. I love, love playing in the water!!!
After all the fun of washing the windows, I was super dirty and sweaty....It was hot this morning! So I took a "ba"...Mommy calls it a "bath", but I just call it a "ba".

Mommy's Shoes by Eli
My Mommy got some new shoes last week and I LOVE shoes. In fact, "shoe" was one of my first words to learn to say. Going to a shoe store is one of my most favoritest things to do! When I walk in to a shoe store, I just run all over the store saying "shoe...shoe....shoe". Anyway, back to Mommy's new shoes.....Mommy said that she couldn't decide whether or not she liked her new shoes...Mommy's a New Balance girl and these are Asics. So when Mommy took off her new running shoes and wasn't looking, I decided to try them out. I really liked them! Mommy....I think you should just give them a try and if you don't like them, you can go back to your New Balance shoes. Check me out........
Treat from Dr
Eli had his 15 month check-up this past Wednesday (even though he will be 16 months next week!). The Dr said that he was very healthy and that he is developing very well. Eli weighed 22lbs 12 oz and was 31 inches tall. He is in the 50 percentile for height and 25-50 percentile for weight. We are very thankful for his health and pray that he continues to be heathy and grow big and strong! ; ) He had to get the chicken pox shot at the dr....after the shot, the nurse gave him a lolly-pop. He enjoyed it for a couple of minutes later in the day.

Mommy & Eli
Happy Birthday Justin!
Eli's cousin, Justin, visited Texas for a few days to celebrate his 18th birthday. I can't believe he is already 18 years old. I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday! It is scary to me because I know that time will go by just as fast with Eli. Happy Birthday, Justin!

Fun Surprise!
My sister and her family traveled to Kentucky to visit family this past week. On the way back to their home in Alaska, they had a layover in Dallas which lasted longer than expected. So, we got the fun surprise of seeing everyone for a short time. Although it was only a few hours, it was so great to see them! They will be back for two weeks at the end of June!
Jessie (3 1/2 years) and one of her babies. Jessie LOVES babies!!!
My sister's oldest son, Justin (18 years) and her youngest son, Jack (5 1/2 months)
Granny with Eli and Jack. This picture is so funny because although Eli and Jack are 10 months apart, they look like they are about the same length! : ) Actually, Eli is about 31 inches and Jack is about 27 inches. But....27 inches is long for a 5 1/2 month old baby!
