Eli enjoyed wrapping presents this year. He especially liked looking in the gift bags. We sent a box of presents to Alaska since Lisa and the gang won't be here this year for Christmas - Eli LOVED packing that box. He was a big helper!! : )
On December 18, Hunter and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas on Saturday night. This was Eli's first time to stay in a hotel....and he LOVED it!! When we got to our room, Eli just crawled all over the room and was "talking" the entire time...as if to say "this is so cool....I love the hotel!". He was so excited that he could not go to sleep. He stayed up until 10:30! We had a wonderful anniversary and are so happy that Eli was with us to celebrate!
Cousin Jack Riley Dixon was born December 11. Baby Jack weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Congratulations, Lisa & John...and brothers Justin and John-John....and sister Jessica! We can't wait to meet him in person!!
Eli has been eating a mix of baby food and "big people food"....until today. Today, he started refusing his baby food. So, he is only eating "big people food" now. Below are a few pictures of Eli eating black beans and rice (thanks, Caryn for the suggestion). He LOVED it! And, we can't forget the crackers...he eats crackers with every meal.
The Grant Thornton Children's Christmas Party was at the Dallas Aquarium. Eli seemed to enjoy looking at all the animals. When we were in the shark tunnel, Eli would follow the sharks as they went over us. He was leaning his head all the way back to see them. Thanks, GT - We had a great time!
At the Grant Thornton Children's Christmas Party, Santa came to visit. Eli was amazed by Santa. He didn't cry (he's saving that until next year), but he really didn't know what to think of the white hair and beard.

Eli has recently started enjoying solid food. In fact, it is amazing just how much he eats. This is a picture of him trying spaghetti. He really liked it....but then again, I haven't given him any food that he didn't like! : )
It was really cold in the Dallas area yesterday. But, we always have to laugh at the way the city shuts down at even the possibility of ice or snow. These pictures are of our trip to Alaska in October. Cousin Jessica's school class had a field trip to the park when it was about 15 degrees and snowing. Eli and I attended the field trip with her. What a difference in the reaction to snow between Alaska and Texas! : )
Wow! We had a busy Thanksgiving week. We went to Arkansas to visit Eli's Grandma Henley for a couple of days. On Thanksgiving morning, we participated in the YMCA Turkey Trot along with about 30,000 other people in Dallas. Eli slept the first mile (while Mom carried him) and then rode in the stroller the last two miles. We had a great time! We spent the afternoon at Granny and Ga-Ga's house. Eli ate his first Thanksgiving Dinner - he had dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and green beans.....BUT, his favorite part was the pumpkin pie. Mmmmmmm.....
Today was Baby Dedication Sunday! Eli did so good as he "stood" in the front of the church and listened to Pastor Chuck. Mommy and Daddy were very proud! Granny and Ga-Ga also came to church with us today.
